Competence

The most distinctive activity features of the eLearning Department of SZTAKI comprise versatility, continuous renewal, benefit oriented attitude, customer centric behavior, as well as highly professional awareness of all business details. Development work is targeting diverse application areas and provide multifold solutions over various IT fields. Our professionals possess the knowledge and practice necessary for successful completion of research and development duties, implementing and providing user features and services.

It is important to note that our efforts are not limited to satisfy a particular user need. Instead, we create tools and implement platforms that can also be used in a wide range of application areas. A characteristic example of this attitude is the availability of tools, methods and a development environment in the field of touristic services and game development. These assets have already been successfully reused, in some cases in the original setup, sometimes in an improved version.

In response to customer requirements, we are able to implement complex solutions on our own, however, we can tightly co-operate with the partner’s staff members and complete the predefined tasks and duties in accordance with the expected forms and contents. A number of national and international projects prove our responsibility in solving tasks of tender duties and result oriented development assignments.

Our smartphone-based products mainly target touristic purposes, but they also proved to be very efficient in supporting smartphone-based contests with some additional and extended features. Similar reuse cases are represented by the mindsetting competitions and the contests for education, which gain IT support as a result of our web-based developments.

The Digital Knowledge Repository of Hydrology is the result of our research work in the fields of eLearning and multimedia and represents the framework for the electronic education at József Eötvös College (JEC). The elaboration of the IT framework and the establishment of the access methodology was completed by the eLearning Department, whereas the development of the curricula contents and introducing it into the daily education was the duty of the JEC staff. The system gained particular attention due to the COVID’19 pandemic since it enabled an extremely fast and effective response to the urgent need for distance-learning of JEC students.
