Attila József in Ferencváros – contest for high school students
As a special celebration of the Day of Poetry in Ferencváros an open-air orientation contest was organized for high school students of the district with the support of the local government in 2017. The terminal point of the tour was the Memorial Place of Attila József. |
Teams of 4-5 students from local high schools participated in the contest. They had first to download the Attila József walk accessible within the GUIDE@HAND Budapest smartphone application. Going along the literary walk – even several times prior to the contest – the students could get acquainted with all information and contents that was necessary later to successfully answer the questions during the interactive tasks of the competition. As a preparatory task they even had to create a „word-cloud” on the basis of a rhyme of the poet and send it as an attachment to the entry-form via email.
The templates for the interactive games of the competition (e.g. doublets, ordering, crossword, etc.) were prepared by the developers of the eLearning Department of SZTAKI and sent to representatives of the Collection of Local History in Ferencváros to complete contents and appearance. The members of 24 teams registered from the district and went through the route of the smartphone walk, passing by 5 stations and facing games with different difficulty levels.

Adventure game „Tattami” – go through the Road to Calvary
A full-fledged mobile app and walks in several languages were prepared within the project aiming at the development of the Touristic Association of the city Tata and its Environment. |
The main aim of developing the city game „TATTAMI” was to enable visitors to get acquainted with the history, natural and architectural values of the city via a pre-defined route (Tata Castle – Sycamore – Mansion Square – Kossuth Square – Calvary Hill), by solving tasks of the game. Upon arrival to the selected locations players are presented exercises as part of a framework story. Resolving the tasks players contribute to forming the story themselves. The final goal of the game is to form a key sentence by the end of the tour. Upon entering the right answers to the questions at each stop players are given letters to that sentence. If all answers were correct, the whole key sentence can be compiled at the last stop, and even the outcome of the legend can be altered.

Prize Game „TTOC”
„TTOC” represents a free smartphone app, downloadable from the well-known application stores. Developed for visitors to Tisza Lake „Ökocentrum” the app not only provides useful information about the touristic centre and its environment, it also offers winning chances via its embedded games. |
The discovery game of Tisza Lake “Ökocentrum” contains 10 tasks, with different points for each task. The point numbers usually depend on the type of the game, the question count and the task level. It is possible to repeat the solution of all tasks, but the total point count always reflects the outcome of the last trial.
The players are facing various challenges during the game:
- collect all relevant information within Ökocentrum,
- find the tasks within the app,
- provide the right answers.
Every day the first 3 players passing the total point count defined for the given day and presenting the result on their Point Count screen at the Information Desk on the main floor get a small present.
